Hello Welcome to Make it Shine Events. We love event planning, and helping people make every event great. This is our main website, but we also have a Facebook page were you can follow and comment.
Last year we were asked to be the event decorators for a fall dinner party for the Fuente de Luz ministerio or Source of Light ministry. We had a blast coming up with eight table arrangements. Some pictures seem to be lost, so I was only able to post three of the finished tables. Because it was a fall dinner party we decided decided to use these mustard color tablecloths and make white burlap squares with a brown ribbon edge on top. As the favor we placed a bent fork that held a little card, with a biblical passage about giving thanks, for each person to take home. The last two pictures are of another fall theme party we did put instead of the forks we made pinecone votives as party favors.
We were asked to make the table decorations for a bridal shower in the color royal blue. This was a surprise bridal shower for a beautiful soon to be bride. Many of our clients contact us because we can work with small budgets, and this was one of those cases. The brides friends wanted to make this party special for their friends, but had no idea how to make that happen with their budget. We give them instructions on how to make the invitations for the party, and planned for the table decorations. One way to make decorations on a budget is by recycling. We used old beer bottles that were blue and used burlap, which is an inexpensive material and easy to use, to make the decorations.
This was a birthday party inspired in country decor. We used yellow as our main color, but added peach, brown, and orange. For the centerpieces we used slices of tree trunks as bases, and then placed glass vases with yellow flowers. Around the glass vases we placed a piece of burlap, some yellow ribbon, and a button on top. Next to that we placed a smaller glass vase with a few flowers. To add color to the table we used a table runner made out of yellow fabric, and a crochet trim that mom made. We also made napkin rings out of the leftover fabric, and mom made crochet flowers with a button in the center to add to the decoration.
This is the latest birthday party of Make It Shine Events. A cute peach/pink table decor with wild flowers. I used a pink tablecloth over the four square tables, that had a set of beige tablecloths as the base. I used a crochet table runner that my grandmother made. In the outer corners I made two stacks of old books, which I got from the library for free, and placed old teapots on top. In the middle, we wanted to do something different, so we used a pink plate and placed another teapot on top of that. For the flowers we used wild flowers, I don't really know the name of this flower, but a lot of people have them in their backyards. As a special treat, we made mason jar layered dessert. 08-19-14
We were asked by our friends, Sixto-Jessica Dormi, to make the tables and greeting table decorations. This was a very fun project, as it was our first wedding. We had to be very creative to come up with low budget, yet expensive looking decorations. After three months of hard work, it all came to an end with a beautiful wedding. The couple was very happy with the results and no one could believe what we did in so little time and money. They only time when we didn't know if every would be ready was on the day of the wedding. We got to the venue early in the morning to set everything up, but the help we were promised by the venue location did not show up. After an hour of folding napkins like crazy, the groom and his parents showed up to give an extra hand. In the end it turned out great, we had a great time, and it was a lot of fun to come up with all these DIYs.
Two weeks ago Lucas Osta and I joint forces to make this killer Pasta Frola de Dulce de Leche. I have to say his baking skills are amazing. I have a little pastry chef.
